Aftercare

Initial Care:

  • Keep the bandage on for 3-5 days, then gently wash with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap.

  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel—never rub or use a cloth.

  • Do not re-bandage unless instructed by your artist.

Cleaning Your Tattoo:

  • Wash the tattoo 2–3 times daily with gentle, unscented soap and clean hands.

  • Avoid scrubbing—use only your fingertips and rinse well.

  • Pat dry or air dry completely before applying moisturizer.

Moisturizing:

  • Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free lotion or artist-recommended ointment after each wash.

  • Don’t overdo it—skin should feel hydrated, not greasy.

  • Continue moisturizing 2–3 times daily for 2–4 weeks.

General Care:

  • Avoid sun exposure, pools, baths, and saunas until fully healed (about 2–3 weeks).

  • Wear loose, clean clothing over the tattooed area to avoid irritation.

  • Limit physical activity that causes friction or stretching on the tattoo.

Itching & Peeling:

  • Itching and peeling are normal—don’t pick or scratch the tattoo.

  • Gently apply moisturizer to soothe irritation.

  • If scabs form, let them fall off naturally to avoid scarring or ink loss.

Other Tips:

  • Avoid using scented lotions, oils, or harsh products on the tattoo.

  • Stay hydrated and eat well to support skin healing.

  • if you notice signs of infection (pus, extreme redness, or swelling), contact your artist or a healthcare professional.
